こんにちは、韓国人アーティストのジョンクン・リーです。私は主にインスタレーションという手法を用い演出された風景や環境を撮影する写真家です。 それらの写真を媒体として再現され、再文脈化されます。私の作品は、宗教儀式と似た特徴を共有しています。儀式は推論に基づくものではなく、儀式が人間の精神や感情領域に及ぼすものであり、その影響について科学的な説明はありません。しかし、行われる儀式は参加する人々に信念と希望をもたらします。私の作品は通常、韓国の伝統的なストリート マーケットでの平凡な生活から生まれています。風景のあるありふれた物を通して、想像力豊かな作品でありながら、皮肉にもリアルなイメージを作りたいと思っています。場合によっては、シートフィルムを使った大判カメラのようなスローなテクニックも用います。時間のかかる長時間露光をアナログ感度で撮影するなども行います。 私の写真に出会った人が、論理的な認識を超えた経験を共感してくれることを願っています。

 

Hello, I am Korean artist Jeongkun Lee. I primarily work as a photographer, capturing staged landscapes and environments using the medium of photography, with a focus on the technique of installation. These photographs are reproduced and recontextualized through my art.

My work shares similarities with religious rituals. Rituals are not based on reason, and there is no scientific explanation for the impact they have on the human mind and emotional realm. However, rituals bring belief and hope to those who participate. My work typically emerges from the ordinary lives found in traditional Korean street markets. Through commonplace objects within the landscape, I aim to create imaginative works that paradoxically evoke a sense of realism.

At times, I employ slow techniques akin to large format cameras using sheet film, such as capturing extended exposures with analog sensitivity. I hope that those who encounter my photographs will resonate with experiences that transcend logical comprehension.
